A baby of eight months was allegedly raped by her 28 year old cousin in Delhi and had to be rushed into a 3 hour surgery. She is now under intensive care, although she is stable.
The baby was bleeding and wounded when she was brought to the hospital. While both the parents were out at work, she was assaulted at home in West Delhi’s Subhash Nagar.
“I left for duty and later my wife also had to leave for about an hour,” said the baby’s father, a labourer. The child was left in the care of a relative in the building.
The accused has confessed and lives in the same building as the victim. This man’s crimes should be tried in court as soon as possible.
The family suspects that the child’s cousin had done the rape. He is a father of a boy who has been missing. He had taken her away to play with her. Which is when the suspect he did the heinous crime.
“This man puts humanity to shame. Despite being a father he did this,” said Swati Maliwal, who heads the Delhi Commission for Women.
