In a sickening case of alleged rape with a 10-year-old girl for over three months, three degraded men, including a 65-year-old watchman, have been arrested by the police in Madhya Pradesh’s capital Bhopal.
The three accused, Nanhu Lal — the watchman, Gokul Panwala, aged 45 and Gyanendra Pandit, 36-year-old driver, were thrashed by the enraged locals while being escorted in presence of police to their houses to gather evidence to be investigated.
Police said that the accused allegedly raped the Class 5 girl at a house owned by Suman Pandey, who also has been arrested. It was revealed that Suman’s role was to lure the girl with chocolates to her house, where the accused would be waiting to rape her.
They would then threaten the girl with dire consequences if she chose to anyone what happened with her. The little girl was last assaulted on Sunday and her mother, a domestic help, noticed behavioural changes in the girl and asked her if anything was troubling her.
The victim initially did not speak about what she endured at Suman’s house, but later told everything to her mother following which a complaint was lodged. The now faces charges of gang-rape under POCSO Act.
An IAS aspirant, earlier this month, was raped by four men in Bhopal for three hours and the accused men took tea breaks while raping her in turns.
