Boy says affair with ‘slut’ teacher ‘was ‘every lads’ fantasy’

A teenager told police it was ‘every lad’s fantasy’ as he described a secret affair with his teacher, a court has heard.

But the youngster, then aged 15, said he was later ‘creeped out’ after having sex with Deborah Lowe, 35 years his senior, and a teacher at his high school, Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester heard.

He said the pair began a sexual relationship after ‘flirting’ at school then swapping phone numbers and engaging in phone sex. He claimed they had rough sex at her flat and liaisons in her car and caravan, when Lowe liked to be called a ‘slut’ in the bedroom.

The youngster later told police: ‘I was 15 at the time but obviously, it’s like every lad’s fantasy isn’t it, to have sex with a teacher?’ Lowe later sent the youngster a card, writing inside: ‘Who else can I be a slut with?’ – but it was found by his mother and police were called.

He told officers: ‘She likes to think of herself as a slut. She likes me calling her that. Especially in the bedroom with her.’ Lowe, in charge of pastoral care at the high school, told police sex did take place between them, but the boy was then 17 and had left school.

She denies six sex offences. On Tuesday the jury was played the youngster’s police video interview where he detailed their relationship. He said other teachers were in the room when he suggested swapping numbers, so it was done ‘low key’, and later that night she rang him.

The witness said: ‘She’s like, ‘You make me so horny’, and all of that stuff. ‘I was, ‘Oh right, I will roll with that’. It was my first time having phone sex. I didn’t know what to say. ‘She was properly going with it. Telling me what she was doing, telling me what she wanted me to do, imagining me being there and what I would be doing with her.’ The day after he said he felt ‘awkward’ in school and ignored her, but the phone sex continued days later.

Around a month later she picked him up and took him to her flat in Bramhall, Stockport, the court heard. Lowe showed him around the place and then invited the 15-year-old into her bedroom, saying: ‘Come in here.’ The boy told the officer: ‘I couldn’t really say no, could I? I’m already in her home.’ He said Lowe told him to undress and then they lay on the bed.

He told the officer: ‘She just started kissing me and that, she bit me a little bit. She wanted me to pull her hair and bite her, she liked that sort of shit.’ Again he said he felt ‘awkward’ in school afterwards, and Lowe warned him to keep their liaisons secret. He added: ‘She said, ‘Don’t tell anyone because I could be in big trouble. Keep it between me and you’.’ Further sexual touching happened after Lowe picked him up in her car, he said.

‘She purposely unbuttoned the top of her blouse and she was not wearing a bra.’ They had full sex a second time at her flat, when he was 16, after Lowe sent him a text begging for sex, the court heard. The boy continued: ‘I was being a teenager. I was pretty horny and that. She was pretty up for it. ‘She scratched my back, I had blood on the bed, she fully scratched my back, she bit my lip again and I thought, ‘Why are you doing this?” Sex carried on when he turned 17, at her caravan, until the summer of last year, he said.

Lowe later paid for him to have a tattoo and insisted it contain a romantic design, he claimed. She then begged him for sex and later sent him a text saying he was ‘The best f****** shag I have ever had in my life’, he said. Lowe denies one count of sexual activity with a child and five counts of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust between April 1 2015 and June 30 2016. The jury heard Lowe accepted she had sex with the boy, but only after he had left school so it was not an abuse of her position of trust. The exact time the relationship began is the central issue in the trial that the jury must decide, the court heard. The trial continues.
