She Was Crushed Under The Wheels Of A Truck
These are the first pictures of the British holidaymaker who tragically lost her life in an accident which occurred in Goa on December 22.
Hannah Whitley, aged 23, died along with another British tourist identified as 38-year-old Daniel John while riding a motorbike on popular beach spot of Canacona in Goa.
On December 22, their motorbike had a head-on collision with an oncoming truck. Hannah and the other tourist were crushed under the wheels of the truck and it was reported that the accident occurred when they were out on a sightseeing tour.
A third person named Gary Powell was rushed to the hospital with “grievous” injuries after being knocked off his bike during the crash, however, his condition cannot be confirmed independently.
The driver of the truck that had the collision with the victim’s motorbike was arrested and booked for dangerous driving, it was reported by the media houses.
A spokesperson for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office told that their staff members are in touch with the family of the British woman who lost her life in Goa and are assisting the members while also being in contact with the Indian authorities.
The spokesperson also added that their staff are supporting the family of the man who also died in the crash in India
Following the ghastly crash, tributes poured in from the heartbroken friends of the victims on social media. One of the friends wrote, “Our thoughts & prayers are with little Han, her parents and family at this heartbreaking time, a beautiful girl taken too soon who touched so many lives, who’s creativity and brilliance is only surpassed by her beauty, charm and wit.”
