In Uttar Pradesh’s Hamirpur, a young woman was dragged into the forest by three youths who took turns in raping her while one of them recorded their criminal act on the camera.
On November 24, as described by the victim’s father, when the girl stepped out of the house, three youths blocked her way and held her at gunpoint before dragging her into the forest.
The three accused, while threatening the girl with the weapon, began raping her in turns. That is when they decided to film the incident which they circulated in an attempt to “ruin the victim’s life”.
Eight days later when the footage of the victim getting gang-raped was seen by her family members, they learnt of what exactly had happened with the woman as she had kept mum fearing for her life.
The family immediately filed a case against one Ishu, Ravindra and Bhura and scenes of chaos ensued in the village when the people learnt of the incident.
The family had become aware of the gang-rape with the woman after the clip began circulating and it became a topic of discussion among the villagers.
Shockingly, the police at first had refused to register the complaint by the family members but when the villagers protested and surrounded the police station, a FIR was lodged against the three accused.
The victim was sent for medical examination and the three accused were questioned by the police but further probe into the case will take place once the medical report is submitted.
