She was called all sorts of names like ‘The Monkey Face’ and ‘The Werewolf’.
In 2011, 11-year-old Supatra Sasuphan made a Guiness Book of World Record for being the ‘World’s Hairiest Girl’. Now 6 years later, Supatra suffers from the same ‘Werewolf Syndrome’ but what has changed for the 17-year-old is that she has started shaving her face and body after she married the love of her life. Supatra, popularly called ‘Natty’ comes from Bangkok, Thailand and suffers from a rare genetic condition called Ambras Syndrome in which a person has abnormal hair growth all over their face and body.
7 years after she made the record, Supatra found the ‘love of her life’ and is now happily married to him.
Although she still suffers from the incurable disease but now she regularly shaves her face and body and looks completely different.
Life was never easy for the little girl. She was bullied and called names at school like ‘Wolf Girl’ and ‘Chewbacca’.
But this never affected her as her friends and family were always there to support her. And after sometime the bullying and name calling also stopped.
Her family took her to several doctors but the condition couldn’t be cured. She even tried laser treatment but even that couldn’t stop the hair growth rather making it come back thicker. So she embraced how she was born.
7 years after she made the record, Supatra found the ‘love of her life’ and is now happily married to him. Although she still suffers from the incurable disease but now she regularly shaves her face and body and looks completely different.
This New Year she posted pictures on her Facebook page of herself without the hair on her face. Supatra was born with several other problems- including enlarged nostrils that was treated surgically so that she could breathe properly.
