He had once hit his ex-girlfriend and accused her of sleeping with fellow passengers on the bus.
A 32-year-old man in London killed his wife at their home in London because he had doubts that she was “not a virgin”. The 25-year-old victim Elidona Demiraj had come to UK from Albania only three months ago after getting married to the accused husband. Her dead body was found on her bed with 27 injuries on her body including her head, neck, chest and her sides. Her distraught parents have filed a case against their son-in-law and said, “We saw her off as a bride and she returned to us dead.”
The parents said that the husband who was obsessed with her virginity had isolated her from her friends and family members in the last three months since their marriage. He also didn’t allow her to meet people.
The husband had a doubt that she had an abortion during a previous relationship. He had even searched for “How to tell if someone is a virgin” online and had told the victims that he was not able to cope with the psychotic symptoms that he was suffering from.
The husband had been possessive and abusive even in his previous relationships. He had once hit his ex-girlfriend and accused her of sleeping with fellow passengers on the bus and had even put her hands inside her trousers “to check”.
The husband started believing that the victim was not giving him enough respect and that she wanted to poison him.
The court ruled that accused is prone to excessive possessiveness and jealousy and that his intention was to kill his wife.
A few days before her death, the victim had a fight with the accused and went to live with two of her friends but he brought her back after a few days. After attacking his wife he had called the police and admitted to slashing her throat.
He was obsessed with the idea that she had an abortion previously and that she was raped by another man.
The accused wept in court throughout the sentencing. He has been sentenced to ten years in prison.
