A shocking video of a mom swatting her child’s hand from her breast shows how hard the weaning process can be for mothers.
Alicia Bencke, 22, of New York weaned her two-year-old son Caiden off the natural feeding method a year ago.
At the beginning, the weaning process was very smooth taking Caiden only two days to adapt to formula but over the last couple of months the toddler has reverted back to wanting breast milk.
Challenge: Alicia Bencke, 22, of New York has shared in a video the struggles of weaning her two-year-old son, Caiden, off breast milk
Wants to be nursed: In the clip, Caiden is seen trying to pull his mothers top down and tapping her bosom
In the clip, filmed at their home o February 18, Caiden is seen trying to pull his mothers top down and tapping her bosom, bursting into repeatedly saying ‘b-b-boobs’.
Alicia has to then persistently swat her son’s hand away while he continues making attempts to grab her chest.
‘Even though it has been a year since he stopped, he still has an obsession of touching my breasts and just wanting to be close to them,’ Alicia said.
‘I filmed one of his funny moments of him having a fit because I wouldn’t let him touch them. This happens all the time and in most cases, it happens in the grocery store.’
Persistence: Alicia has to then persistently swat her son’s hand away while he continues making attempts to grab her chest
Frequently: Alicia (above with her son) said ‘this happens all the time’ but in most cases, at the store
‘It’s super embarrassing, he will slap my chest and yell as loud as he can “boobs, boobs, boobs.'”
‘People in the store will look over and laugh. I’m sure the other mothers who see this happen can totally understand this situation.’
Other mother’s can definitely relate her struggles but there are even more challenges mother’s face with breastfeeding altogether.
In January, a disgruntled group of mothers took to the chat forum, Whisper, to discuss their own experiences with nursing in brutally honest detail.
One mother shared that the worst part about breastfeeding was leaking while another said the worst part was pumping because it made her feel ‘like a cow’.
And one mom even admitted she had been shamed for breastfeeding in public whereas another woman revealed she felt sexualized by men whenever she nursed her child.
It goes to show that mother’s face challenges with breastfeeding in even the unlikeliest of situations – whether it be from the weaning process or nursing in general.
