She has courage, if not hands. Her courage made sure to not give up and write instead with feet instead of hands.
This young girl with an unbreakable spirit scored an impressive 64% in her 10th board exams in Madhya Pradesh and paved the way for many differently-abled persons to follow their dreams.
Now, focussing solely on shaping up her future for the better, Durga Lodhi is preparing for competitive examinations.
A Damoh-based girl living in Bamhori Maal is taking a leap of faith. Durga Lodhi is a student of Higher Secondary School. But as opposed to other students, she has to work 10 times as hard as others. Why? Because, she is differently-abled.
While others were blessed to be born healthy and whole, Durga was born without hands. But she makes sure that this doesn’t stop her from following her dreams and fulfilling her aspirations.
She started with learning how to read and later taught herself to write with her feet. She not only cleared all her exams but also scored a decent 64%.
Impressed by her spirit and dedication, State Finance Minister Jayant Malaiya gave her Rs 1 lakh in financial aid.
SDM CP Patel got her artificial hands through Narayan Sewa Kendra Udaipur.
Throughout the state, BJP is conducting Deendayal General Knowledge competition and Durga has registered for this. She proudly filled her nomination by writing with her own feet. This powerful image was taken by a party worker Lochan Singh who sent it to the State President of Yuva Morcha.
He also posted it on his Facebook account and the CM himself retweeted it. And now, Durga’s name is on everyone’s lips. The young girl is studying humanities and hopes to expand her skills so that she wouldn’t have any problems in competitive exams.
Truly, where there is a will, there’s a way.
