A 92 year-old woman died after being bitten by her carer hired to call at her house to help her.
Jane Sandefur was killed by Jennifer Lea Collins, 56, last May, with Collins hitting and beating the frail senior during a savage attack at her home in Mammoth Springs, Ark. Collins admitted second-degree murder Wednesday, and will now serve 30 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction, reports Fox 16.

Her stricken victim was discovered at her home by her son, who dialled 911. Sandefur was able to tell first responders that Collins had hit and beaten her, with medics also discovering that her body was covered in multiple bite wounds.
She later succumbed to pneumonia brought on by the injuries she sustained in the vicious attack. Collins was initially charged with first-degree battery in the wake of the attack, with the charges upgraded after her victim died. Ten years of her sentence was suspended, meaning she must spend 20 years behind bars.

Prosecutor Henry Boyce said: ‘This is without a doubt one of the most bizarre cases I have seen in over 15 years as Prosecuting Attorney for this District. ‘There were several preliminary legal issues pending before the Court when Collins decided to plea.
‘After lengthy conversations with all members of the Sandefur family they have consented to this plea agreement. ‘I am happy that we were able to help bring closure to Mrs. Sandefur’s family today.’
