On Monday, a 22-year-old woman was gang-raped. Bloodied and battered, the young woman was brought to the hospital. The victim’s brother has accused Raja Faruki, the nephew of Uttar Pradesh’s Sunni Waqf Board Chairman Jafar Faruki. He also named his four accomplices in the henious crime. The police has registered a case against the five men and has arrested one of them. The young woman is battling for her life.
The incident happened in Leharpur police station, 35 kilometres from the district. The 22-year-old who had left home for market, was found unconscious with clothes red with blood.
The locals informed the police and the victim was admitted in the hospital. Her brother reached the hospital, as did the rest of the family.
The victim told her brother,“ 5 men surrounded me and took me to the forest…”
“They bound me and raped me. They then forcibly pushed me into the car; when I started to lose consciousness, they threw me on the side of the road and fled.”
Leharpur CO Akhand Partap Singh, said,“Our initial investigations have pointed towards gang-rape.The girl was found bloodied and battered.
The victim has been sent the hospital; a medical will be conducted. A case has been registered under Section 376 D against 5 men. One has been arrested while a lookout is on for the other four. The brother of the victim has accused Raja Faruki, the nephew of Uttar Pradesh’s Sunni Waqf Board Chairman Jafar Faruki. Investigation is still on.”
